Oh my, what a delicious meal this was. My sister first introduced me to this brown rice mixed with wild rice and split pea and i must say it’s my absolute favorite! I really really love it! Yesterday i decided to make the rice with stewed fish. As you all know, we eat fish on Thursdays (just because lol). This is a very easy meal to prepare because the rice does not need that much attention.
INGREDIENTS:
- Tastic Brown & Wild Rice with Split pea
- 2 cups of water
For the fish you need:
- 4 mushrooms diced
- 1 clove of garlic
- Fish Spice
- 2 medium sized carrots
- Black pepper,
- 1 TableSpoon tomato soup and brown onion soup
- 1/4 green pepper & 1/4 red pepper
- Salt to taste
METHOD:
- For the rice, add required rice & salt to saucepan and add the 2 cups of water. Bring the rice to boil and then after about 30 minutes turn down the heat and let it simmer.
- For the fish, first fry the onions until translucent
- Add garlic and the chopped tomato and let it cook for about 20 secs
- Add the green pepper, red pepper and fry for about a minute
- Mix the soup with water and add to the saucepan
- Spice the fish with salt, black pepper, and fish spice and then add to the saucepan
- Turn heat to low and let the fish simmer for 30 mins
- Serve
